How did the chiefs go into such a slump?
When Trent Green went down with that concussion in 2007, it really was all downhill from there. You're right, the Chiefs used to be a dominant force in the NFL. I remember back then when they had that 13-3 record, they made the playoffs and faced the Colts. They were a team that would win the AFC West easily, but now, they don't have a good team. Don't count on success in 2008 with Tyler Thigpen, as he's just getting warmed up. The Brodie Croyle & Damon Huard injuries don't help. The Chiefs reportedly will go after Daunte Cullpepper, and by next season after the draft, they could have a good shot. They'll probably go after Orakpo from Texas or Maluaga (spelling?) from USC in the draft if they want to improve their defense, which they should want to do. 2009 and 2010 spell good years for Kansas City, and possibly by 2011 or 2012 they could be a dominant force in the AFC.
