What is the purpose of the anticodon in RNA amino acid translation?

A tRNA anticodon is a unit made of 3 nucleotides that correspond to the 3 nucleotide bases on the mRNA codon, without the anticodon, the tRNA would not be able to bind to the mRNA and thus the amino acids would not be transferred and in turn, proteins could not be synthesized. For example, the codon for the amino acid lysine is AAA, therefore a possible anticodon for lysine is UUU....if it is, then lysine can be transferred and the polypeptide can continue its growth into a protein, fascinating stuff!
