Does driving in a newly paved street damage your car?

I recently drove my car through a newly paved road and the asphalt was still wet, after a while I heard loud noises of pebbles and debris hitting my car from under, could this flying debris has caused any damage 2 my car??, and how can I get rid of the asphalt from my tires
