Eye twitching? help!?

So, my left eye has been twitching for about a week. This is NOT the left EYELID, it is the skin directly under the eye, that area. So the lower hemisphere of my eye (around it) has been twitching. The sensation is like I am squinting my eye, but my eye lid itself if not twitching. I suspect it may be caused by stress because it usually happens often during school or a place where I sit still and am either nervous, stressed, or quiet and/or immovable. But generally besides those situations it usually happens not as often. It may stress of eyes or just plain stress. I don't know. What do you think it might be and should I see a doctor if it persists long enough to be a problem?
